Biography

While working on the theme of the spider web at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Ysabel de Maisonneuve encounters textile and the trajectory of the thread. Like the spider that moves in space, Ysabel sees textile art as a dance that invites the eye and body to move.

She trained at the National School of Decorative Arts of Limoges, the School of Fine Arts Angers and Middlesex Polytechnic of London.

Her passion for dance and movement led her to explore the world of textiles through various spatial and choreographic practices.

She creates and directs costumes and sets for directors and choreographers: Guy Freixe, Russell Dumas, Dance Exchange (Sydney); Peter Brook, Jean-François, Dusigne, Yoshi Oida, Ariane Mnouchkine Theater of the Sun
