Born in Fukui Prefecture, Masako grew up as the eldest daughter of a family that owned a ribbon factory founded in the early Showa period. While helping the family business, she became fascinated with ribbons.
For over 50 years, she has been working exclusively with ribbons, creating numerous works. She has also participated in the creation of works by famous designers at Paris Collection, cultivating her skills and sense of style. Through Fukui ribbons, she continues to pursue new expressions while preserving the local traditions, and conveying the charm of Fukui.
